Can we install speed bumps?
The BOD reached out to Cedar Management Group for feed back on this. There was a traffic study done in fall of 2022 which took a year to get scheduled. The study found that speeding was not significant enough to warrant speed bumps being installed by the city. See picture below of the denial. If community members continue to petition the city for speedbumps we can try to push for another speed study to take place. The BOD is looking into all possibilities for getting these installed to protect our community and will update everyone if/when we find a way to do so.
In some of the neighborhoods Cedar manages they have helped install speed bumps. There is a project management fee of roughly $8000 for this. Then average cost per speedbump is $4500. If we install speedbumps without approval of the city, the HOA will be liable to maintain all roadways within the community with a rough average cost of $12,000 a year to maintain them.
